Children of Valis
Originating from Nijmegen, the VBX regulars Children of Valis are known for their dynamic approach to progressive sounds, groove techno and straight up house. They began their journey throwing illegal parties along the river De Waal, once called “Valis” by the Romans. Growing up by its shores shaped not only their name but also their sound: raw, immersive, and deeply connected to their roots. Now calling Amsterdam home, Children of Valis have carved out a place at some of the city’s renowned dancefloors, from VBX and Breakfast Club to Shelter. Their sets bring a powerful blend of sounds, always keeping it gangster and groovy. A versatility born from their early years behind the decks. Not bound by any genre they honed their ability to read the crowd and keep the energy high. As young ravers, they frequented Doornroosje—the Netherlands’ iconic “techno temple”—where Planet Rose events introduced them to pioneers such as Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Dave Clarke, Octave One, Speedy J, Kenny Larkin, and Steve Rachmad. Solidifying their passion for techno culture and inspiring them to step behind the decks. Today, Children of Valis carry that same spirit into every set they play, weaving together influences from their past and present. Rooted in authenticity and a passion for movement, they create moments on the dance floor that are as soulful as they are driving.
